So far, one of my favourite places for drinks is The Circle Bar at the newly refurbished Rosebank Hotel. It is FABULOUS! (I'm sure my pictures do not do it justice). It is modern chic with a melange of opulent grey ostrich-leather seats, cushiony white leather couches, glass-covered tables that display firey flame lily arrangements, and a cluster of round pods intriguingly hidden behind crystal curtains.The vibe is very chilled, but the atmosphere far from shabby. It's only right to look good, to complement the surroundings. It's great for me because, as you know, I will jump at any excuse to get dressed up! They even encourage a fashionable crowd , with free evenings every week for those in the media industry. That makes for a really happy Happy Hour!
The oragami-style menu unfolds to reveal a cocktail menu that infuses the classics with a unique twist. I'm stuck on the martinis at the moment, my favourite being the citrus-tinged Hemingway.
I am more and more impressed with what Joburg has to offer. This bar could be in any of the major world cities. Something about it just feels very Upper East Side fabulous, very West London cool, and very Paris chic!
